Together they displayed a suite of apps that will users of Huawei phones to soundly link their devices to infotainment systems mounted in select Volkswagen vehicles. Included in this suite are apps to support navigation, texts, music, and call calls.

To manage doing this information in real-time, Huawei has utilised MirrorLink to seamlessly connect devices. MirrorLink is surely an open technology standard designed to create instant information to your car screen. It has gained ground abroad, but hasn't  been introduced to your US.

Android Auto also has began rollout in the US, and Google in addition has created a partnership with Volkswagen, therefore it is unclear about just how much ground MirrorLink will gain in the US, if any. Currently, the Volkswagen Lamando and Golf 7 are running MirrorLink with Huawei’s suite of vehicle safety apps, and they are both locally created in China. Still, it’s good to discover more manufacturers taking smartphone/automobile connectivity seriously.
