Oppenheimer analysts say Samsung has made some mistakes

Investment banking firm Oppenheimer told clients in the research be aware that Samsung is imploding. As proof this, the lender points out that Samsung has shipped ten million units on the Samsung Galaxy S6. That is 1 million units below the number of Samsung Galaxy S5 handsets Sammy shipped within the same number of days this past year. That might feel like a surprise considering how Samsung has generally been praised for re-designing its flagship phone. Even Samsung expected record shipments this coming year.

But Samsung has already established to counter tough competition in the Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Apple increased the size on the screen from 4-inches around the Apple iPhone 5s to 4.7-inches about the iPhone 6. The company also added a 5.5-inch phablet as well as the moves have paid back for Apple within the form of increased sales from individuals who were anticipating larger-screened iPhone models.

China is a useful one of what has had place with Samsung this season. The company has dropped from finding the largest business of smartphone shipments within the country at 20%, as a result of 10% and has now been replaced at the very top by Apple. Oppenheimer says that Samsung has created a mistake by emphasizing hardware as an alternative to software. The firm's analysts claim that in enjoying its critics, Samsung went overboard and removed many with the things about its software that made its phones jump out compared besides with iOS, though with other Android manufacturers at the same time.

Besides mistakenly paying attention to hardware over software inside eyes of Oppenheimer's analysts, Samsung also made a decision to go with form over function in relation to hardware. It eliminated the IP 67 dust and water-resistant certification that was about the Samsung Galaxy S5, made the car battery non-removable, and eliminated the microSD slot that allowed Galaxy S5 users to provide additional memory towards the phone.

"When we look at Samsung’s flagship in 2015, the Galaxy S6 Edge, almost all of its differentiators fall back to hardware: a cutting-edge CPU, curved display, iPhone-like metal casing, front area fingerprint sensor, and camera with OIS. At the same time, we see little improvement in Samsung’s software user experience, and no value-added to existing Samsung users who are on prior generations of devices."-Oppenheimer's letter to clients
