Google quietly rolled out a new password service that builds on its existing Chrome sync system.
With the announcement of Google Play Services 7.5 during the many Google I/O fun yesterday, Google quietly slipped within a new password syncing feature that developers may take advantage of. What we did not know is that it would be going live for one to use so quickly, and after this the new features are in existence to see.
On the internet side, a fresh password management site passwords.google.com is a different portal to all the passwords you have now saved in case you are using Google Chrome to sync web passwords. You can see the many sites you've authenticated with within a new and simple to navigate list, and you may also please click a button on each to look at the actual password.
But here's where it gets interesting. With the latest version of Google Play Services in your phone or tablet, you'll now have a different "Smart Lock for Passwords" option with your Google Settings which will let you sync those passwords on your phone for installed apps make use of as well. If an app developer simply plugs in the single API inside their app, you can download an app from Google Play, and register with a single tap in the event you've already signed into that app's website.
The system is fine in reverse at the same time, when you sign into an app that has the brand new API, then visit the website while signed into Chrome, you can join there using a single click. One app that already provides the API implemented is Netflix, where we instantly saw the sign-in message and could get into our account in seconds without typing in anything.

This can get really interesting the moment a majority of your best apps start employing it, and can dramatically slow up the time it takes to log into newly discovered apps and websites if you're moving between devices.
